Brest Cancer Foundraiser, Saturday October 25th 2008

SalsaTangoSon is combining forces with Step'n Out Studio (Doreen Beatrice) and Buenos Aires Mercado, Ltd. (Barbara Bill) to host a charity event on Saturday October 25th at Step-N-Out. We will have more details about the event in the next few weeks but we are going to showcase some dancing. If you are working with a performance group or have students who would like to perform a showcase number, we would LOVE for you to dance. Please save the date and let me know who will be dancing and what style of dance. It better help us put a program together.

We really want to thanks to all of those that supported our event,our Milonga, Cincinnati events and our tango comunity.
Thanks to my beginners students that with only 4 or 5 weeks of classes attended Secrets for beginners from Luciano and the Guided practica and those advance beginners that realized that learning from an Argentinian instructor just arrived from Buenos Aires makes a diference in your vision about Argentine Tango.
Thanks to those advance students that always support our events and believe in our vision of Tango Argentino. Mil gracias!
It is not easy to bring an instructor from Buenos Aires and we regularly don't get much money from this, sometimes not money at all. We only make this because our mission from Dos Minas and mine personally as an argentinian and as an educator is "to keep the roots and the feeling of our traditional dance".

Luciano Mares,
A multi-talented dancer and teacher, Luciano is Director and choreographer of the dance company "Compañia Milonga Candombe" where the roots of this genre and it's dance are being explored, recently presented it's first show in Buenos Aires, and currently preparing a theatre performance soon to be brought to audiences.
Director for Argentina for the program " You Move me Tango" and main instructor for the visually impaired and blind community and staff at Associacion de Ayuda al Ciego (ASAC) in Buenos Aires, inspired by a project conceived and funded by The Shimmy Club, Inc., a non-profit organization based in the United States, he is credited with the development and implementation of its program to teach Tango to the blind community.
Luciano served as organizer, instructor and performer at the 1st edition of the "CaMiCando Festival", Cayengue, Milonga and Candombe event at Salon Canning and Club Gricel. Luciano has taught at festivals throughout the US and Argentina
He has danced in theatre producions and musical plays including "Noches de Tango", " Ensalada Mistonga", "C'est Magic" and "La Maleva". He was invited to apprear ina series of performance throughout the major milongas of Buenos Aires including Confitec,.ria Ideal, El Beso, Club Gricel, La Nacional, Pigmailion, Bien Pulenta, Porteno Y Bailarin, C.C. Torquato Tasso and in celebration of "The National Day of Tango" at Milonga Shusheta.
